I have designed a calendar that features the bonobo sanctuary Lola Ya Bonobo (Lola) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Each month in the calendar contains photos of bonobos at Lola as well as text that provides information on bonobos.

The purpose of the calendar is twofold:
1) to increase awareness of bonobos
2) to raise money for Lola Ya Bonobo

My interest in great apes began in earnest while I was a zookeeper at the The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in Ohio. While there I met Claudine Andre who is the founder of Lola Ya Bonobo. Inspired by Claudine’s efforts I visited her in the DRC and spent time with the bonobos at the sanctuary. Now I hope to use my bonobo photos to raise money for Lola.

I plan to sell the calendar for $17 U.S. plus $3 for applicable taxes and shipping & handling in the United States. A percentage of each sale will go to Lola-—the more calendars that I sell/the more support that I receive for calendar publication costs/the less that others require to sell the calendar, the greater the percentage that Lola will receive.
